Ok so this season I was a bit lazy with street style just because I was too busy posing and pouting for the camera. But here some pretty things I whipped my camera out for.

Intern - Ups and downs

So I finished at Ralphs for now and recently everything has been hectic! Just the way I like it. After a couple of weeks of being stuck in a rut I manged to get a few Interviews. I literally applied EVERYWHERE. However only a few responded and most of the time when I conversed with them, the companies either didn't cover expenses or only covered within London (£29 a week) which was something I couldn't afford.

So things started looking brighter as I got an interview with Premier Model Management, you know, 'The Model Agency' they got filmed for a documentry. I was pretty excited as I thought it would be pretty cool and a good insite to the other side of the fashion industry, it seemed like a busy lifestyle and something I could uphold. I turned up for my interview and Leomie Anderson (new face with big things a head of her) was outside with some film crew. Obviously a bit intimidating as the room was big white and spacious just like on the tv with everyone working hard and being all cool and stylish. The interview was pretty brief and the girl was nice, lasted about 5 minutes and was told I'd found out if I got the job on Friday. Unfortunately I didn't hear from them so back I was to finding a new internship.

Soon I had a reply for a showroom called Rainbow Wave who deal with all the buyers who want to stock their designers such as Carven, Mario Schwab, J Brand, J.W.Anderson and more. I went for the interview and I think it went pretty good and I go for a trial day soon and see if I like it etc.

Since then I've been to London Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week which was incredible, lots of fun. Manish Arora was by far my favourite show as he is one of my favourite fashion designers and never fails to excite me with his inspiring ideas.Tiring with a lot of shows to attend however it well worth it and fitted lots of cocktails and shopping in between. As you can probably see...

PFW A/W 2012 - Day 3

Carven

The show started with a gorgeous paisley print ensemble, with jackets, skirts and dresses covered in the green blues and orange hues, the combination worked beautifully finished off with cuffs and collars of white.  The coats were perfectly tailored and sculpted the body to a chic finish with mustard being the colour combined with matching fur finish around neck. The colour palette soon blended from the strong mustard to a delicious orange with added hints of sky blue for shirts. The silhouettes were sophisticated and youthful, which is what Carven is about. Girly and cinched in at the waist as well as long slung effortless skirts were adopted. It all looked easy to wear and adaptable which was a great strength that Carven has. Always consistent and luxurious the pieces were phenomenal and finished to faultlessness. Black was a classic input for an autumn winter collection which was done exactly right as well a few striped pieces to add a bit more oomph. As the show closed duchess satin dresses worked the runway in jewel blues and red, the perfect end to a great show.

As we took our seats against the blank canvas of a wall, artists started spray painting the wall in colourful splashes of orange, pinks and green. The show started before the artists had finished but by then you could see the words spelt ‘life is beautiful’. The first look to strut down the runway was a beautiful floor length elegant white dress with scattered green leaves across the dress. All models had gold leaves sculpted round the side of their head which related to the urban landscape of the location and collection. Outfits were made up of contrasting colours, such as pink, green, yellows and blacks. Experimental with his work Arora isn’t scared of mixing and matching texture as well as colour, he does it in the most skilful and fabulous way that each piece is a delightful piece of art. Silhouettes were of a 1950’s style, with strapless prom dresses cinching in at the waist as well as a hint of 1920’s with dresses that slung low at the hip with bright blue and yellow fur trim. An absolute delight to watch there were laser cut details in an almost holographic fuchsia pink. The make-up was also the highlight with streaks of bright blue and laser cut eyelashes, Arora collaborated with Nicolas Kirkwood to create chunky stacked peep toe heels. His signature digital prints came at the end which resembled the pattern on the invitation, in light fluid satins they fitted loosely and elegantly off the models. When the finale came , the models wore a whole new collection, and all stood by the graffiti, as they stood the dresses co-ordinated with the background, once again spelling ‘life is beautiful’ – the motto of the show.
