369. Travel diary. San Francisco.

Twin peaks -

Some guy at the hostel told us about twin peaks and how it had the most incredible views ever. One night we took a couple of buses out as it was quite far away to get there. It would have been good to pack a torch as it was a steep path up with no lighting and very unstable ground. However we made it to the top after about a 15 minute walk and saw the most incredible views of San Francisco I could ever imagine. Completely lit up, the bridge looked insane and it was like a picture on a postcard but better. I wish I had a little tripod to take some cool images but this is what I got.

De Young -

Known as the coolest contemporary museum, this museum has a lot to offer. Entry being very reasonable at about $10 , you get a discount if you take public transport. Set in the most beautiful minimal building, the architecture was amazing. With rooms full of ancient artifacts dating back to before Christ. There was also rooms full of contemporary art work as well as some of the classics from Picasso and Dali. The grounds also had sculptures which were lots of fun.

Knockout -

On one of our nights out we got a whole troupe of us at the hostel together to pre drink and all head out to a dive bar called knockout down in the mission district. Known as a pretty cool place to hangout we ventured out. The music was pretty good, lots of dancing was certainly involved and the drinks were pretty reasonable. However I was drunk by the time I arrived and snuck a hip flask in but some how found it upon myself to buy a vodka and coke for $5. So if you fancy a cheap night out and some good music and tunes head there!
