300. Trends.

Trousers are even shorter than you're average ankle swinger for next season. They are cut to the mid-calf, potentially unflattering, they actually fall on the smallest part of your leg creating a slimming leg illusion. Hence why I rocked them at LFW if you saw my poser post a couple weeks back. Everyone has been doing them, and they look super cool fresh and comfortable. If you're tall wear the look with even baggier clothing but if you're smaller like me juxtapose the look with a snug fitting top. This is what I'll definitely be rocking for next season now the sun has gone away.

299. Poser.

Ridiculously hungover post Kenzo party I had Colette Dinnigan at 9:00am. This wasn't a particuarly pretty sight, hence not looking at the camera. Please admire yet more mix and matching. Wearing the jacket and shoes again. Oooo multi wearing, this can be done.

297. Poser

When packing I always try and be strategic, being able to mix and match and taking outfits from day to evening without looking boring. It was safe to say that even when doing this I manage to still take a huge suitcase for a three day saga. Wearing this outfit to the Hexa by Kuho show then making my way into the night for the insane Kenzo party, which was in an aquarium. Yes it was amazing, maybe I'll dedicate a post to the parties I went to because they were great. Anyways my colour palette for the weekend was rather bland but I love it. Look at my serious face, yes I'm serious about fashion...

Poser #14 - PFW AW13

These trousers were an absolute bargain find, £7 from H&M in the dregs of the sale. At the time I was like hmmm really? But I thought fuck it YOLO/FOMO (new one my friend taught me, fear of missing out).

PFW AW13 - Costume National

Set at the stylish minimalist venue, palais de Tokyo, the crowd were ridiculously avant garde and stylish which very much represented costume national. Tailored long length coats were the key focus of the collection. With splits at the side seams and others featuring a bottom open block with tie. Head to toe in black created a slick edgy silhouette, half way through blocks of white expanded the one tone colour palette keeping it clean and very much monochrome. Capasa was pretty safe this season, nothing was new but just as nice. He stayed within his comfort zone creating what he knew best. It was a shame to see such a safe collection, hopefully next season he will step out of his black box.

PFW AW13 - Jean-Paul Gaultier

Ridiculously excited for jean Paul gaultier, it was set at the rather luxurious hall of walgram, the last time I was here I got a little I toxicated on free champagne. The stage was set in the middle with gaultiers name written in huge letters on the backdrop. Everyone had goody bags which were filled with his new scent jpg classique. Beautifully tailored coats with biker details were head to tow in black whilst leather was a constant theme. The fierce fashion music blaring coinsided well with the clothes, the models embodied a sexy and sassy feel blowing kisses down the runway. Texture was imminent and strong sharp shapes were key. Burn out striped sleeves paired with a PVC fur trim bikers was an empowering look which had a throw back feel of the 80's. Power dressing was an obvious inspiration as strong shoulders and streamline silhouettes made an appearance accompanied with hints of sequins. Androgyness goddess was felt from each model, with beautifully draped dresses with a side a split skirt and double layer biker top contraption it was cool, edgey but still fun. Signature fur floor length coats took stage and the finale looks went down as a duo and were made up of shimmering two tone fabrics in hues of epic bronze and silver futuristic tailored suits.

PFW AW13 - EACHXOTHER X BLAIR CHIVERS

Last season we met the lovely Blair, and this season we popped along to see his collaboration with Each x Other again as we loved him so much. This time they went all out, with huge lighting on the walls and the room decked out in his art work and the collection put together on little rails it was a beautiful sight.

Wall Art

Live silk screen printing onto clothes.

A little glimpse of the collection.

I had this done on the inside of my coat.

The collection is very cool edgey and androgyness, definitely worth checking out. I can see the brand sitting along side ACNE, Alexander Wang and all those hip cool brands.

Poser #6 - PFW

So I won't lie since PFW I have been bloody lazy with blogging but I'm slowly getting back to the swing of things. Jemima loves hipstomatic and took a shit load of pics of me posing to the max. These aren't even that posey...they get a lot worse...maybe i'll share them with you guys, could be embarassing.

PFW - DAY 2

This season has been pretty chilled, we arrived mid fashion week, so we didn’t get many tickets as normal. I’m not high profile enough dahling. But we went to Issey Miyake today which was really good. Lots of people looking fabulous and the show went back to their roots. There will be a post by Jemima Daisy and pictures by myself.
After the show we headed for lunch in Le Marais for a nice Croque Monsier and lots of wine. I love sitting outside on the street, I felt very Parisian. All very civilised and sophisticated for us. After meeting the Blair’s best friend last night she informed us on this exhibition going on, so we headed to see what it was all about and turns out Jemima and I had a bloody good time. Tucked behind the wooden doors on the street or Rue De Verrier it lead to a courtyard and then into the main building. All very white and spacious we walked through to discover and black canvas, it was called self-portrait and we thought “woah this is pretty fucking conceptual” next thing we knew is that we were on the canvas. It infact took our photo and etched it onto the canvas, it was a live portrait basically, and we had so much fun with it. We pouted and posed and had a grand old time. We then went upstairs to discover the most amazing mirror. Built of lots of little squares, each one reacted to movement. So we were dancing and all sorts to create the most beautiful effects.

It was one of the best exhibitions I’ve been to.
We had another little wonder and decided to carry on with a little more shopping then have a break in a rather expensive cafĂ©, it was early afternoon so we ordered cocktails and ice cream. Opposite there was a rather large vintage fair that was going on. So we entered and discovered the most lavish vintage pieces one could set their beady eyes on. Hermes coats, Dior sunglasses, Chanel handbags, you name it. Us poor paupers bestowed upon the cheaper range and discovered some beauties for the mere price of €15 and it was amazing.
After a long hardworking day we headed back to our hotel and chilled for once. Met up with our friends and went for a fat old indian. Delicious.

PFW -Issey Miyake

Issey miyake

With the rows half empty, 45 minutes late, us lesser mortals are still asked to stand at the back of the show... Lovely!

The show opens with a gentle musical lullaby and mute navy tones. Based around the flight of birds the colours become more daring and layers of soft, striped chiffon tunics become more complex layered prints. Colours turn from muted to bright primary colours before neons make an appearance- yellow, turquoise and green with black and white.

Reverting back to the traditional pleated structure of the issey miyake label we see delicate structure created but retaining a soft silhouette.
The attempt to modernise this look comes in the high fashion neon colours and the twisted head gear.

With a nod to nautical trends loose, cropped trousers are shown and striped details complete this look.

The models begin to weave in and out of each other, closely avoiding collisions and failing to keep their smiles hidden but the intention is clear. A riot of colour like a flight of tropical birds takes over the catwalk as the models interweave.
The block neon colours overlaid with black print on white pleated chiffon hanging beautifully. Neon salmon, vibrant purple and trendy turquoise pop on the runway.

Another mature, consistent collection from Issey Miyake - not breaking any boundaries but presenting what the press and public want to see.

PFW - Day 1

We left for Ebbsfleet in the early hours and soon enough arrived in Paris. Our hotel nation mon marte, wouldn’t really call it a hotel. Think communal toilets and showers and a spiral staircase, classic dingey Paris I guess, but we loved it all at the same time. Couldn’t check in til early afternoon so we left our suitcases there and headed to Le Marais where we always do extreme amount of vintage shopping each season.

We firstly headed to Kilo shop, which is a store filled with various vintage goodies, however you paid by the weight of your garments. It didn’t actually make it that much cheaper than the other vintage stores however it was a fun, new way of shopping.
After we headed to Free ‘p’ star, a favourite of ours. There are 3 shops all within walking distance of each other. The one near the Kilo shop at a 1 floor which is great, but admittedly you have to have a good eye for things and use your imagination a little, for example dresses and skirts may have to be hemmed and jacket pockets may have to be fixed but who cares when you’re spending one small little euro! Another great thing is that I bought myself a real fur Russian looking hat, they had quite a lot of these for the mere price of 10, not quite sure which animal it is, mink or ferret? Something with small feet and soft fur any who. All you fur haters out there don’t hate on me, this animal has been dead for a while and I’m just putting it to good use.
We thought it would be wise to have a little nap once settled into our basic room (scummy chic as Jemima would say). Later that evening we met up with Jean Luc Dupont and a few of his mates to go to an exhibition launch. Artist Blair will be collaborating with each x other during Paris Fashion Week to create a collection. However that night Blair was doing live silk screens on peoples clothes. I decided to get my House of Holland crop top done, I thought “FUCK IT, LET’S DO THIS SHIT” and so I was placed on a massage table and all cameras were on me. Soon I was having “WERK” printed on my boobs, it was quite the spontaneous experience which is what Blair was all about. Really fun and welcoming the whole presence of the party was warm.  Everybody was shit hot and looked pretty darn cool, a good first night to the beginning of our trip.
